Gary is ex forces having spent 24 years defending Queen and Country in the RAF. On retiring he took a change in direction from engineering into technology and project management which is still what he does to pay the mortgage. However, it was his passion for nature photography that brought him in to the world of wildlife rescue. Out in the bush, along the ocean beach or around a lake Gary would often find and report injured wildlife and then wait to assist the rescuers when they arrived. Eventually he decided to eliminate the call and started working with WASR as a rescuer. Having swum with wild dolphins, sat amongst flocks of King Penguins, eaten lunch next to a walrus, chilled out with a beer on a rocky outcrop covered with Albatross and rescued a variety of WA wildlife Gary has extended his photography passion into Wildlife and habitat protection which is what brought him deeper into the WASR family.
